Taipei Overview

Taipei is located in northern Taiwan an island off the coast of mainland China.

As with the majority of Far East cities, Taipei is a busy bustling metropolis where there is always movement and activity. It is the nature of such places where, in relatively confined spaces there are many people trying to go about their daily activities. There is also the distinct contrast between the wealth that has been created by some people, which feeds the consumer driven markets and the relative poverty to be found close at hand, where people live a much more simple life.

The buildings also continue this contrast, from traditional temples, beautifully ornate and spiritual to the more modern tower blocks where money is the driver. Each a shrine to their own gods.

It is good to know that the country's spiritual past has not been totally lost, with many places in and around the city to escape for a while and take some time just to think without the pressures of daily life encroaching.

With its location at the Far East gateway Taipei is where the very latest products and designs can be found. With manufacturing here making up a large part of the total global amount in some industries it comes as no surprise to know that if you want the latest technological advance you can buy it here.
