Top Seychelles Attractions

Victoria, the capital city is on the on the main island of Mahe, and is a small colonial town, with more than its fair share of restaurants, and a museum dedicated to the natural history of the island chain.

A short ride on a plane or a ferry, ferry from Mahe, takes you to the small yet perfectly formed island of Praslin to the north. There you can see some of the best beaches in the country (and therefore the world), especially Anse Lazio in the far north. On Praslin, you can explore the Vallee de Mai national park, where there are over 4000 coco de mer palm trees growing.

Shopping in Seychelles

Victoria, capital of Seychelles has the only major shopping area on the islands, but goods tend to be fairly expensive. You can pick up the usual mix of crafts and textiles on the market and the stallholders are open to a bit of bargaining.

If you fly Emirates to Seychelles, it is possible to stop over in Dubai for a few days on the way, and take advantage of the tax-free prices in the shopping malls to save money on your holiday essentials.

Seychelles Sporting Events

Surrounded by coral reefs and the beautiful clear waters of the Indian Ocean, it should come as no surprise that the one of the great attractions of a holiday in the country is the chance to strap on some SCUBA gear and go diving in the Seychelles.

Most hotels in the Seychelles offer diving tuition and can also arrange other water sports such as sailing, wind surfing and water-skiing should you want to try your hand.

There are a couple of golf courses on the islands - most notably at the Lemuria Resort of Praslin where you can play a full 18 holes on the private course.
