Nuremburg Overview
Nuremburg is a historical city in Germany, having been founded in 1050. The current population is just under 500,000 people, with a large number of these being involved in the broad range of industries that are prevalent here.
The city is a mix of the old and new, with parts of the city in the Old Town dating back to medieval times. The gothic architecture to be found here is a glorious reminder of bygone times, with delightfully created buildings and wonderfully peaceful squares creating the sort of atmosphere that is rarely found in cities today.
The new parts of the city tend to be more entertainment driven, with many bars and clubs to be found. There has also been significant investment in the arts, with theatres providing live entertainment at the cultural end of the scale. There is also a lively modern music scene, with a number of venues in the city for bands to perform. These are always popular with young people of the city and provide a real contrast to the Old Town's gentility.
As a place to visit then Nuremburg offers a little bit of everything. It is a modern city so has all the usual facets of the modern city - shops, accommodation, infrastructure and economy but with all that there is also a sense of history and occasion about the place. The buildings evoke such emotion and the feel of the Old Town is a warm one, welcoming visitors and inviting them to sit down and take a glass of wine.
