Ibiza Overview

Ibiza is one of the Spanish ruled Balearic Islands, situated in the Mediterranean, and has long been recognised as one of the all time greatest party islands. Clubs and bars dominate the area, with Pacha, Amnesia and Manumission held at the worlds largest club - Privilege, being some of the most well known.

The island has had a hedonistic streak for many years, dating back to the 60's when the hippy community found it and took it to their hearts. The combination of warm climate, beautiful surroundings and an easy going nature meant that the island quickly gained a reputation for fun, and this has continued on as styles have changed.

The two main areas for partying are Ibiza Town and San Antonio, both of which are full of young revellers all summer long. The streets are literally full of bars and clubs, and the parties start in the evening, running through to the not so early hours of the morning. The beaches tend to be used to recover from the previous nights exertions, and as preparation for the next one!

The island does have other aspects though, with some glorious scenery away from the main towns. The locals are particularly friendly and welcoming too, especially when people take the time to move away from the built up areas and embrace some of the local culture.

Top Ibiza Attractions

The nightlife is the main draw for the majority of visitors here, being a mecca as it is for the young crowds of party people. Ibiza hosts the wildest parties and welcomes the hottest DJ's. It is home to the foam party, now replicated in clubs everywhere, but originally seen here, and for those looking for a good time there is probably nowhere else that offers so much.

Shopping in Ibiza

The islands history as a place of congregation for the youth culture of the moment has led to a very diverse blend of fashions and styles being offered here. There are many markets in the main towns where hippies through to clubbers can all find their preferred styles. The markets also include traditional items made by the locals, creating an eclectic mix that really typifies the islands appeal.

Ibiza Sporting Events

Ibiza is a water sports capital. With lovely beaches and its warm climate, combined with a fun seeking audience, the many fun activities around the sea are to be expected. Parasailing, jet skiing and windsurfing are very popular here, as well as some surfing, sailing and diving. There are also lots of real tourist activities, like the banana boats and so on that are more of an entertainment, but still very popular here.
