Top Almeria Attractions

Amongst the many attractions of Almeria, the beaches and nightlife are two of the main reasons that people visit. Close to Almeria itself, you can visit the town of Granada, home of the famous Alhambra Palace - a remnant of Moorish rule in the region.

Other attractions close by include a number of great Costa del Sol theme parks, and several exciting resort destinations where beaches and bars offer a great welcome.

Shopping in Almeria

Should you need to stock up on anything during your holiday in Almeria, there are plenty of local shops in the town where you can buy whatever you need. Clothing is quite cheap in the town - especially leather goods. Andalusian cottage workers from the area produce some of the best leather products around, but you should be careful of what you buy, as the prices commanded by the best work ensure that there are plenty of poorer quality fakes around.

Almeria Sporting Events

One of the most popular reasons for visiting Almeria and the Costa del Sol is the chance to play golf in the sun. Along the Spanish Coast, there are literally hundreds of sun-kissed golf courses where you can follow your balls around for a few hours.

Bull fighting is a major industry in southern Spain, and there are numerous bullrings in the area - including a large one in Malaga. Visiting a bullfight is a great way to taste Spanish culture but it isn't for everyone - especially those who misunderstand, and consider it to be cruelty rather than sport.
