Australia’s biggest airline – Qantas it off on the hunt to buy many new aircraft to make sure that the competition is kept truly in check. A recent Qantas announcement has mentioned that they intend to buy up to 180 new aircraft from both Boeing and Airbus to make sure it keeps its stranglehold on the Australian flights market as well as allowing the business to move in to the Asian market.

Qantas terminal at Canberra airport is having a $10 million facelift.The terminal will be getting an upgrade in check-in facilities which will include an extra lane for security, more space for busy peak periods and more space to deal with additional baggage capacity and also an additional aerobridge.

Qantas Airlines has been reported to recently been pushing towards an expansion out of its home market. Qantas wants to get positions for itself in the Asia – Pacific region and become recognised as an airline that has bases in the Asia and Pacific regions.
