Qantas has ambitious plans

Qantas Airlines has been reported to recently been pushing towards an expansion out of its home market. Qantas wants to get positions for itself in the Asia – Pacific region and become recognised as an airline that has bases in the Asia and Pacific regions.

Qantas airlines who operate flights to Singapore is already one of the largest airlines in its own region, carrying passengers of up to 36.4 million and revenues of AUD15.2 billion which for Qantas is a healthy profit of AUD1 billion, these records have been taken from 2007.

The group consists of the Qantas mainline operation as well as a regional feeder airline and low-fare unit Jetstar. The strategy is to grow both brands, says Qantas executive general manager, John Borghetti.

Qantas will be up against some of the worlds largest airlines by making this espansion. Airlines such as Singapore Airlines and Cathay Pacific Airlines.
