Lufthansa announces New Technology on boarding passes.

Lufthansa, Germanys biggest airline is hoping to introduce another scheme whereby passenger can access their electronic boarding pass via their mobile phone . The scheme which is currently under review on flights to Frankfurt and Munich from Hamburg will be launched if the scheme is successful.
The scheme enables the passenger to check-in on-line receive in return an electronic pass either by email or SMS. The information received on these passes would include the customers name, flight number and a 2D Bar Code. This will enable those travelling light to go straight to the security gate. Lufthansa also said that further improvements security software that it would be considering including the ability to include both visa and passport information to the existing data.
Other Airlines are closely following Lufthansas development of this New Technology especially as most people possess a mobile phone and anything that would benefit the passenger would be of interest.
