Virgin Atlantic cabin staff set to strike...

Virgin Atlantic seem to have a battle on their hands that could cost them dearly if they do not solve this dispute. Cabin crew at Virgin Atlantic are set to strike in the New Year if a dispute over pay. This in turn would have a knock on affect and would disrupt flights to Miami, Barbados and other major transatlantic routes.

Staff at Virgin Atlantic are starting industrial action because they feel their pay lags behind other airline staff in the same job. Airlines such as British Airways are said to be getting paid more for someone in the same job as Virgin Atlantic.

There is a ballot for the strike to unite members which is set to begin this week and close on the 20th December. Unite is also planning on a strike ballot for staff of BA because of a proposed closure of their pension scheme.
