Union opposes move back to Don Muang Airport

Thai Airways International has snubbed plans to use Don Muang Airport as Thailands subsidiary international airport. The acting chairman of Thais labour union has said we are calling on the government to reconsider the move since having two international airports in the capital could result in managerial mayhem and create confusion with the air cargo transport system.

This was declared as he led a group of 30 others to back Thai Airways international to express their disapproval with an open letter which he handed to the Prime Minister Surayud Chulanont.

The Don Muang Airport closed in 2006 when Bangkok’s new Suvarnabhumi airport opened, since then Suvarnabhumi airport has had problems and Don Muang has reopened to offer flights to the low cost airlines last march. The New Airport designed by Murphy/Jahn Architects handles International flights to Sydney, London and other Worldwide destinations.
