When you fly with Singapore airlines you might be mistaken for thinking the air hostess’s all look the same, i.e. young, beautiful and all almost the same height. The rigorous selection process of the job interview for an Air hostess’s job at Singapore airlines is said to be more of a beauty pageant.
The rules for applying as a Singapore air hostess seem to be no older than 24, no taller than the average Chinese women and slim figure. It seems in the Chinese aviation market that entry barriers for flight attendants are exhibited as symbols of excellence.
A quote from Luo Man, a media director at China Southern, the country's largest carrier, "A lot of Chinese passengers judge the quality of airlines based on the quality of their flight attendants, meaning are they pretty or not pretty". Singapore Airlines operate short-haul flights to Manila, Bangkok and Jakarta, and long haul flights to Vancouver, Los Angeles and Johannesburg to name a few.....
