Most popular British airport, goes to ‘Gatwick’

According to Telegraph Travel Awards 2007, Gatwick airport was voted the most popular airport in Britain by British holiday makers from the UK.

Readers of the Telegraph voted for Gatwick airport to win the award for most popular airport which was followed by Manchester airport then Birmingham airport. The readers also voted for most popular international destination and the international travellers voted for New Zealand which was followed by Island Nation the Maldives in the Indian Ocean and then Australia.

Long haul destinations also came high in winning awards for city holiday destinations such as Sydney, Cape Town and Vancouver being the top three most voted for foreign cities. For the favourite European country category, Italy took away that award.  Greece took second place and Switzerland third.
