Cathay Pacifics interest in Westjet Alliance.

It is no secret that Cathay Pacific has a keen interest in going into partnership with Westjet Airlines, but there seems to be a hold up. The hold up being Westjets reservation system and limitations it has.
Cathay Pacific being a Hong Kong airline is looking for a possible interline deal where they can fill there flight services to Asia and in return Cathay Pacific can fulfil the smaller markets from Canada and other North American destinations.
Cathay Pacific has found that by buying a strong domestic carrier can benefit the airline so much. After they acquired the Chinese regional carrier, Dragon air they boosted the China flights to Shanghai and Beijing to over 35 more destinations with flights to China.
