The US airline industry are rumoured to be struggling and could be heading for airline consolidation. But what would consolidation mean for passengers travelling from Detroit?
A merger for Northwest Airlines, Detroit Metro Airport’s biggest carrier could mean easier travelling from Detroit airport but unfortunately it could also mean more expensive travelling.
A merger between United Airlines and Delta Airlines has been discussed in early November which caused more speculation on which airlines were going to merge next, including Northwest Airlines.
Analyst have studied possible merging partners for Northwest Airlines and Delta Airlines or Continental airlines seem to be the most popular choices because there is not much clash in their flight routes and would create the least change when it came to merging the two flight schedules.
