Anti missile system for American Airlines

It is known now that there are over a million hand held missile devices that are currently circulating in the world’s arms bazaars. There is growing concerns about these small hand-held bombs because they are being bought for only a few hundred dollars each.
The hand-held missiles are knock-off from Russia and they have become almost as prevalent as knock-off AK47’s. Each missile is capable of blowing up a passenger jet at altitudes of up to 15,000ft.
According to defence sources there have been over 35 instances where terrorist have thrown missiles at commercial flights over the years since 2001. All the firing of missiles at the commercial planes took place in hot spot tourist areas. In 2003, Baghdad, two missiles were fired at a DHL cargo plane; one hit the wing of an aircraft that was on it way into the airport.
In order for aircraft to avoid this type of terrorism American Airline are testing a missile detection system which will warn the pilot if a missile is aimed at them.
