Virgin Atlantic crew member jailed for drug trafficking

In Nigeria, Lagos a Virgin Atlantic crew member was sentenced to 18 months in jail. Mohammed Wudil heard the ruling of his case which was ready by Justice Peter Olayiwola of the Federal High Court in Lagos. Wudil also got fined 250,000 naira (US$2,118) which will be paid to the Federal government.
Wudil was arrested by Operatives of Nigeria's National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) on the 8th August 2007 at Murtala Mohammed Airport in Lagos when he was caught trying to export 1,743kg of cocaine.
The flight Wudil was due to fly on was cancelled and the plane was impounded but was later released.
