US Airways, is adding a brand new service to London, but despite it’s initial hopes it will once again be departing from its hub in Philadelphia rather than the one it has in Phoenix, Arizona.
It has though started to pave the way for future opportunities by adding a further 7 Airbus A330-220’s to its already impressive fleet. The new wide body aircraft are part of an increased order of 10 aircraft that US Airways had already placed. US Airways have chose this model of aircraft for a specific reason, its plan to offer a further 4 European flights from Phoenix between 2009 and 2011.
With US Airlines offering many different routes on USA flights, it comes as a welcomed announcement for Sky Harbour (Phoenix Airport). At the current time, only British Airways offers non-stop flights to Phoenix and that any new announcements made were subject to change as the new services are all at least 2 years away, mainly due to delivery times on the new aircraft.
