Published: 13/07/08

November 1971, Mr DB Cooper, known as Dan Cooper boarded a Northwest Airline plane.  As all passengers were settled in their seats waiting for take off, Cooper passed a note to a stewardess which read “You are being hijacked” he also said he had a bomb and he would use it if necessary.

Cooper demanded $200,000 cash and four parachutes which he exchanged for the remaining passenger who were onboard.  In order to escape with his ransom, Cooper directed the pilot to take off in the direction of Nevada and when they were at 10,000ft just over the Washington-Oregon border he jumped from the aircraft with his parachute and the $200,000.

Because police are unsure if Cooper survived the jump, they have released a new sketch of what he may look like now.
