Etihad Airways appoints new manager in India

Etihad Airways, based in the UAE has appointed a new manager for its base in India. The role will be taken up by Neerja Bhatia, she will be country manager.
Etihad Airways first enrolled Neerja as a sales manager for western India in November 2004 when the airline first started flying to Mumbai, India from Abu Dhabi. By December 2005 she was appointed manager for western and southern India, then in summer 2007 she was acting manager for India, during this time she oversaw the launch of the new flight service to Kochi and Thiruvananthapuram in Kerala.
Etihad Airways’ executive vice-president sales and services Geert Boven said: “The demand for air travel between the UAE and India is already huge and is set to grow as Abu Dhabi continues its rapid expansion,”
