Airlines in the Qatar region have removed the agencies commission on flight bookings and promised they would reflect this on the price of flight tickets, but until now and industry source has said that still hasn’t happened.

On Tuesday the decision was made by Qatar’s Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) to remove all airline flight commission from travel agencies.  The commission used to be 7% of the full price of the ticket.  For travel agencies the CAA told them to charge the customer a service fee of no less than 5%, in turn the airlines have been authorised by the CAA to reduce there airfares, which has yet to be carried out.

Qatar Airways have announced a reduction of 5% in their airfares since the commission system has been scrapped.
