Boeing faces a drop in shares by 5 percent after reports that there will be more delays on the new Dreamliner 787 jet. Boeing, the US based plane maker has struggled with problems on it’s assembly line during the development of the new Dreamliner787.

Boeing is predicted to make the announcement that the new aircraft will be delayed another three months.  This will set the production back a whole 10 months from when it was originally planned to be released. The Dreamliner 787 has been Boeing’s fastest selling plane and now has a massive 802 orders for 2008.

Boeing had set a target of delivering 109 of the aircrafts before the end of 2009, but due to this latest delay they will miss this target.

Its shares closed down 4.7% at $77.86 on Tuesday.

Boeing's first all-new jet since 1995, it is the only big commercial aircraft made mostly of carbon fibre rather than aluminium.
