BA looks forward to Heathrow Improvements

Despite the lobbying and protest from many environmentalists there is one company that is looking forward to the new developments at London’s Heathrow Airport – British Airways. British Airways operates a huge array of services from Heathrow and due to a lack of room at the airport has had to cut its destination range from 227 to only 180.
Despite the objections from local and environmental groups, the new runway system is going to be aimed at improving local air quality and reducing noise. With the growing number of countries that BA and other operators want to travel to, a third runway is seen as absolutely necessary, especially with the rapid expansion of airports in the Middle East. In response to the growing economies of Asia, BA has already added 6 new weekly flights to Dubai this winter, taking BA’s total amount of flights to the city up to 27.
To try and help with the new developments, the Airlines, staff representatives and employers have formed a group to try and help with convince the government to make the right decision on February 27th 2008.
