Qantas has ambitious plans
Qantas Airlines has been reported to recently been pushing towards an expansion out of its home market. Qantas wants to get positions for itself in the Asia – Pacific region and become recognised as an airline that has bases in the Asia and Pacific regions.
Qantas airlines who operate flights to Singapore is already one of the largest airlines in its own region, carrying passengers of up to 36.4 million and revenues of AUD15.2 billion which for Qantas is a healthy profit of AUD1 billion, these records have been taken from 2007.

Several major US airlines have had to double the price of the fuel surcharge for all of their flights.These airlines have had no choice to add the fuel surcharge because of soaring increases in fuel prices. Thai Airways International has Halal food certificate
Thai International Airways has received its certificate to prepare Halal food on its main premises. The Halal meat will be prepared and cooked by Thai International Airways own catering department. A Memorandum of Understanding certifying Thai International Airways Halal food was signed at Suvarnabhumi Airport, located in Bangkoks neighbouring province of Samut Prakan.

Alitalia deals moves forward
The deal for the large chunk of the Italian Government’s stake in Alitalia, an airline that has previously offered regularly flights to London Airports, to be bought by the AirFrance-KLM group seems to have a big step in the right direction. The announcement made by an Italian minister in parliament has also said that there still might be room for the state to at least keep a small stake in the airline should the conditions on the buy back options on the airline be acceptable.

As from 29 March 2008, United Airlines will begin to operate flights to London Heathrow from their Hubs in the USA. This will increase the service already supplied by the airline and provide cutomers an opportunity to fly return from Seattle and Dallas in business class.

Emirates entering Western Australia
Emirates is certainly doing its best when it comes to putting itself out there with its potential customers and sees the extension of its current deal as part of its ongoing marketing mix. The Airline which provides flights to Melbourne and Perth is said keen to be involved with many sporting teams/events as they feel that sport has similar values as the company’s working ethos – namely honour, glory and sportsmanship. Gulf Air to consider an early lease of 787’s
Gulf Air, the Bahrain based airline have placed an order for 16 new Boeing 787s which they are due to take delivery of in 2016.They are now planning on bringing the delivery forward and arranging leases to introduce the new Boeing 787 earlier. These will fly on Gulf Airs main routes in the Middle East including flights to Dubai and Abu Dhabi.

Thai Airways to reduce flights to Pakistan
