Beijing Flights, China Highlights
Lying in the north of China, Beijing is a fast paced place to visit, and is home to seven and a half million people. As popular with couples as it is with families, Beijing has many great attractions, and something that no visitor to Beijing should miss out on seeing is the famous Forbidden City – a highlight of China!
Predictably, the biggest annual event in Beijing is Chinese New Year in February, when traditional dancers fill the streets and buildings are decorated in red. There are fireworks displays and parties throughout the city marking the period, and it is a particularly exciting time to visit Beijing.
Other major occasions that reflect local culture but are of interest to tourists include the International Kite Flying Festival each April, and features amazing displays of technique in the many parks. The Beijing Beer Festival takes place in October each year, and is a great time to visit Beijing if you like sampling obscure ales from around the world.
